Child Custody
questions & answers
Question: Can a parent file for custody for children in the state where they live or do they have to file in the state where the children live?
Answer: A parent may file for custody in either the state where the child or children live or a parent lives. If there is already a court case for the children in a state the parent may be required to stay in the state unless neither parents or children still reside there.
