Question: me and my girlfriend have a child together he has my last name and I'm named on his birth certificate how do I get custody of him as she has mental health problems. and can't look after him properly.

Answer: If you live in either Maricopa or Pima Counties, you can go to their self service center to file for custody. https://www.superiorcourt.maricopa.gov/SuperiorCourt/Self-ServiceCenter/. If outside of Maricopa or Pima County, you would need to go to the Superior Court in your county to see if they have specific forms to be filed. If they do not , you can use the forms from Maricopa County. You may also want to contact an attorney for advice on how to obtain custody of the child.
