Name Change
questions & answers
Question: I am a legal, permanent resident of the United States, not a citizen of the United States. I want to change my first name. Can I do this here? If so, how can I change it on my documentation of legal status and residence here?
Answer: Arizona Courts provides self service center to apply for a name change of a resident who is from another state. Individuals will have to apply for citizenship into the United States prior to attempting to apply for a name change as a citizen in the particular state the individual is residing. https://www.azcourts.gov/selfservicecenter/Self-Service-Forms/Name-Change-Forms
