Divorce & Annulment
questions & answers
Question: He wants a divorce, I don't. What do I do?
Answer: Arizona is a "no fault" divorce state. Arizona Revised Statutes, Section 25-312 sets out the grounds for divorce. The only grounds for divorce in Arizona is that "the marriage is irretrievably broken." If one of the parties swears the marriage is irretrievably broken, the judge will grant a divorce (dissolution of marriage). It is no longer possible to refuse to agree to a divorce.
