Question: If court ordered my friend to pay child support, does this mean a decree was complete? My friend still thinks he is married and a responsible party.
Answer: I'm not sure I understand the second part of your question, but remember that a court order does not necessarily constitute a final decree. Judges often enter emergency or temporary orders that expire once the parties finish the actual trial. So it is conceivable that the court may have entered an interim (i.e. temporary) child support order that it could still modify at the last evidentiary hearing.
