Child Support

questions & answers

Question: How do I go about revisiting the amount of child support my ex husband pays?

Answer: According to the Arizona Department of Economic Security, support orders can be modified if one or both parties can show that here has been a significant and ongoing change within the household, for example the loss of a job, disability or a change in income. In order to modify a child support order, a party may ask the court to modify the order or the Division of Child Support Services (DCSS) can offer assistance. DCSS offers a review process and provides a modification packet that can be filled out and submitted to a local office. This review can help determine whether a modification is appropriate; if DCSS determines that a modification is appropriate it will forward the case to the Arizona Attorney General.
