Child Support
questions & answers
Question: How do I go about revisiting the amount of child support my ex husband pays?
Answer: According to the Arizona Department of Economic Security, support orders can be modified if one or both parties can show that here has been a significant and ongoing change within the household, for example the loss of a job, disability or a change in income. In order to modify a child support order, a party may ask the court to modify the order or the Division of Child Support Services (DCSS) can offer assistance. DCSS offers a review process and provides a modification packet that can be filled out and submitted to a local office. This review can help determine whether a modification is appropriate; if DCSS determines that a modification is appropriate it will forward the case to the Arizona Attorney General. Read more about modification of child support orders at the Department of Economic Security’s Frequently Asked Questions page.
