Child Support
questions & answers
Question: If a husband ended having a baby out of an affair, when paying child support is his wife responsible for child support payments also ? How does this affects the wife personal finances ?
Answer: It is a bit complicated. You can access the Arizona Child Support Guidelines online on the court's website at http://www.superiorcourt.maricopa.gov/Search/index.asp?s=%2FSuperiorCourt%2FFamilyCourt&q=child+support+and+visitation . Normally, the wife's income will not be considered, but there are times when the wife's income is considered indirectly. For example: if the wife has a higher income and pays most of the household expenses, the court could (but not necessarily) decide more of the father's income is available for child support. Child support is the legal obligation of every parent. Arizona Revised Statutes, Section 25-501. You may want to meet with a lawyer to learn how you can protect your personal finances.
