Child Support
questions & answers
Question: Do both parties have to notify the court when their income changes?
Answer: Divorce decrees typically include language that requires both parties to exchange financial information with each other every 24 months. Litigants do not usually send that information directly to the judge. It is up to the individual party to decide if a change in income has occurred significant enough to justify filing a petition to modify child support.
