Question: my ex says i owe $1200 in arrears but the statement i get from the state doesn't show any. if i did owe, would the state have already called my employment to collect?
Answer: You may want to call the Family Support Clearinghouse or the State of Arizona itself and ask for your most recent statement - and then compare it to your own bank statement to see if the two records agree. That will resolve the question rather quickly. It is risky to assume that the absence of a phone call from the state proves that you don't owe arrearage.
