Child Support
questions & answers
Question: EX WIFE HAS ONE CHILD AND i HAVE ONE CHILD DO I OWE HER HALF OF SUPPORT???
Answer: The goal of implementing the duty to pay child support is to ensure the child is receiving an amount of support that is approximately equal to the amount he or she received when both parents were living together. Child support is determined in accordance with A.R.S. 25-320. Courts will follow the Arizona Child Support Guidelines when determining whether child support should be issued. The guidelines can be found here. In appropriate circumstances, a parent with custody of a child may be ordered to pay child support. Therefore, if you seek child support determination through a court, there may be a duty to pay child support.
