Divorce & Annulment
questions & answers
Question: I got married in another country in 2002. I have lived in Arizona about 5 years. Can I get a divorce here without my husband?
Answer: The United Sates may grant you a divorce even if you were married in another country. To file for a divorce in Arizona, you or your spouse (or both) must live in Arizona for at least 90 days prior to filing with the court. If you are asking the court to make decisions about child custody, you must have lived here for 6 months.
