questions & answers
Question: My mother recently tried to punch me and when she did so I blocked it and pushed her off of me, she says that I am legally obliged to let her discipline me as my parent, is this true?
Answer: Parents' are allowed and expected to discipline their children however, they are not allowed to abuse their children. A person may use self defense as defined A.R.S. §13-404, which states that "a person is justified in threatening or using physical force against another when and to the extent a reasonable person would believe that force is immediately necessary to protect himself against the other's use or attempted use of unlawful physical force."
