Guardianship of Minor
questions & answers
Question: my mom abuses me, but I don't want to call DCFS unless I can go live with my dad, who has zero custody of me. is that possible for them to send me to my dads?
Answer: The Dept. of Child Safety make the determination when investigating abuse of a child, where the child should be place. Go to: https://dcs.az.gov/resources/frequently-asked-questions/guide-department-child-safety-dcs to learn about the steps taken to make sure that children are being taken care of. If you are being abused by a parent, please contact a person you trust, such as a teacher, counselor or friend and let them know you are being abused. They can contact the DCS office and report the abuse for you. Sometimes when investigating, they will remove the child if they feel it is necessary.
