questions & answers
Question: can a person still become a lawyer in the state of Arizona with felonies on their record?
Answer:
In order to become an attorney in Arizona a person must pass the Arizona Bar Exam, the MPRE (Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam) and a "Character Report". The "Character Report" is an extensive background check that is reviewed by the Committee for Character and Fitness.
For specific information on whether an individual may or may not pass their "Character Report" please contact the State Bar of Arizona or a local law school counselor.
More information about how to become an attorney can be found on the Arizona Supreme Court's website.
