Question: My employer has not paid my child support in over a year. my employer said he has paid it but will not show me proof that it was paid. Child support has not received payment.

Answer: Do you have proof that your employer took the child care support deductions? Employers are required to provide employees a written or electronic statement showing the employee’s earnings and deductions taken. Once deductions are taken, the employer is responsible for the proper handling and payment of those deductions. If you have proof that your employer has been taking child care support deductions from your check, but the child care support agency has not received those payments from your employer, you should have the state agency contact your employer.
