Question: How long do you have if you are locked out of your apartment to get your belongings?
Answer: If a landlord has lawfully retaken possession of a living space, a tenant has 21 days to reclaim their personal property before the landlord can proceed with disposing of the property. The tenant can obtain certain items without hindrance (clothing and the tools, apparatus and books of a trade or profession and identification or financial documents including all those related to the tenant's immigration status, employment status, public assistance or medical care). However, the tenant is responsible to pay for any relocation and storage fees of the remaining property before the landlord is required to release it (A.R.S. 33-1368 E,F).
