Landlord and Tenant Rights and Responsibilities
questions & answers
Question: by law, how many days notice the landlord has to give to the tenant about an increase of rent?
Answer: The Landlord Tenant Act does not specify an amount of time that is necessary for notice of increased rent. Instead, this is something that was likely addressed in your lease agreement. The act does specific, however, that the landlord has the right to increase rent when the lease ends and before the new lease is signed.
