Question: A maint worker from a property mgt co entered my apartment without consent. They refuse to tell me who entered my apartment, why there was a need to enter, and I asked what was the emergency that constituted the right to enter my apartment. I have left 2 calls for the regional manager with no response. No attempt was made to call me that there was an emergency, no voicemail, and no door tag. The only reason I knew someone was in my apartment was because my detergent and softener was left on the washer. This was discovered on my lunch. When I came home from work my apartment was flooded.

Answer: Have you tried to talk directly with the maintenance person? You need to focus on the damage from flooding not the improper entry. If you have damage from the flooding, you could use this as a reason to break the lease and move out or you could stay there and sue the owner and manager for any damage to property. If you have no damages, there's not a lot you can do, other than move at the end of your lease. You could always report the complex to the Better Business Bureau for the improper entry or damage and see if you get anywhere with that. Good luck!
