Question: I have been renting a trailer on a property lot it has been falling apart its not leveled also I think it has asbestos, but I complained asked the landlord to fix things they refused so I offered they refuse to allow me to do it but I stay in because I can't afford any where else. Now its 2yrs later she wants me to move out because its not livable & it does have asbestos it has been admitted by the landlord but refuses to admit in writing to help me get into housing my question is How can I get help to inspect the unit for proof without having to pay I'm on disability so I'm not homeless?
Answer: You may wish to consider contacting the Arizona Department of Housing (at https://housing.az.gov/ or (602) 771-1000) if you have not done so already. The Department of Housing offers a wide range resources to low-income Arizonans who need housing assistance. It would also be wise to discuss your situation in greater detail with an attorney.
