Eviction

questions & answers

Question: My sis has been in my house since 2015 and I moved to CA. I just found out that my landlord served a judgement in my name and evicted her in my name without notifying me. The Property Mgr and the Owner knew I was in CA and said they would put the lease in her name but never did. Since they did not notify me, is this legal?

Answer: In order to learn whether or not the notice requirements in the Arizona Residential Landlord and Tenant Act sections that deal with eviction were properly followed in your case, you should speak with an attorney about exactly what happened.
