Landlord and Tenant Rights and Responsibilities
questions & answers
Question: Help!! Landlord says i cant remove my light fixtures, ceiling fans from home when i move out. I have original fixtures to replace what i installed and the lease says nothing about having to leave them? I am leaving the home exactly as is was when i moved in.
Answer:
When there are questions regarding issues like fixtures, the tenant should begin by reviewing the lease that they signed. The lease may contain provisions that explain how fixtures in the dwelling are treated and what are considered fixtures. The following are a few statutes that the tenant may find helpful: ARS §33-322 and 33-1341.
Tenants and landlords can also call the Housing Counseling Hotline at 602-262-7210 for additional information.
