Landlord and Tenant Rights and Responsibilities
questions & answers
Question: Curious as to what the time frame is for establishing residence & if I receive mail if I'd be considered a resident even though I'm not in the lease.
Answer: From a landlord/tenant law perspective, an adult person becomes a tenant by entering into and executing a rental agreement with a landlord (A.R.S. 33-1310). The fact that a person receives mail at a dwelling does not automatically make them a resident of that dwelling.
