Question: I am interested in becoming a certified fiduciary and would like to know where I can receive training to become one. Thank you.
Answer: Under Arizona law a professional fiduciary must be certified with the Arizona Supreme Court in order to be eligible for appointment by a probate court as a guardian, conservator or personal representative. State law requires that to become certified, fiduciaries must meet certain eligibility requirements. (Arizona Revised Statute (“ARS”) § 14-5651, Arizona Supreme Court Administrative Order Numbers 2006-70 and 2006-71, and Arizona Code of Judicial Administration (“ACJA”) § 7-201 and § 7-202 establish the authority for administration of the Fiduciary Program by the Arizona Supreme Court. The Court administers the program through the Certification and Licensing Division of the Administrative Office of the Courts.) http://www.azcourts.gov/cld/FiduciaryLicensingProgram.aspx All potential candidates for certification must successfully complete the written knowledge examination, submit a completed application for certification, including the application fee, and possess the education or experience as outlined in ACJA § 7-201 and § 7-202.
