Food Stamps, Cash Assistance
questions & answers
Question: I own a home but was recently let go from the teaching industry. Can I still get food stamps? Will they be considered as a "cash Advance" and have to be paid back when I sell my home?
Answer:
Anyone meeting eligibility can apply for the Nutrition Assistance Program. You can apply for public benefits if you are an Arizona resident through Health-e-Arizona.org.
Eligibility guidelines and additional information about the Nutrition Assistance Program can be found on the Department of Economic Security website. On the bottom of that site you will also find a number to call for additional questions about the program. As the agency that manages the program, you may want to ask them your specific question about cash advance.
