QUESTIONS

  • Air conditioning has been out for 3 days- rental company will only pay us $30 a day to get a hotel. Understand they have up to 5 days to fix it, and then we can break our lease, which we do not want to do. However, we can't live in this environment. Home Owner waiting on home warranty company who is not cooperating. Don't know what to do.. Inside of home is 98 degrees & we have a small child (3 yrs), making it unsafe. We try to talk with rental company, they just get angry. What remedies do we have to get this repaired fast?

  • My mom's 3rd husband is calling and demanding visitation. He abuses my mom and she worships him. Last time I heard from my mom she disowned me and my family for wanting to just see her.Her husband is now calling every couple days threatening and harrassing us. He says that he just paid $100,000 on a house so he should have no problem suing us for visitation. I am afraid he has an inappropriate interest in my daughter. They've only seen her 2x's in her life, btw & my mom never even held her. They are both drug addicts & now they have the money & time to come after us. Any advice would be great!
  • My friend just rented a trailer in willams.here are the issues he is having with his landlord and corresponding questions 1. The is sewer gas coming out of the drains in the bathroom 2.there are many electric plugs and switches that are coming out of the walls when touched or used 3.there are no smoke alarms. 4.one of the entrance doors has a rotted core and can not be secured, (it can be pulled open or pushed in effortlessly 5.   • I share joint custody and my sons father drops him off at his siblings home and my son stays there most days when he is not under my care. He sleeps on their couch at night. Can I possibly get full custody if the other parent is doing this? Also, my son has a lot of trouble learning in school and he does have an IEP and he gets no help academically when he is with other parent and I have to always pick up where my son last left off in regards to reading and homework and it hurts him academically because this is only being done part time. Can either of those situations help me get primary care
  • If a person staying for free on a property as a caretaker and sublets a room without owner permission and without a written rental agreement, who is entitled to the rent money?
  • we are under contract to purchase a home in a 55+ park, the home is privately owned. at the time of signing we were given a written exception to the two dog rule by the park manager. we have to extend the closing date for two weeks and were just notified that the park rules have changed and the exception will only be granted for one year. the manager said that since the contract expires she can change the pet agreement. the exception we have does not state a time limit and the extension is only moving the closing date. do we have any recourse

  • My landlord sent me a 5 day pay or quit notice to my place of employment, along with a copy to my work email,I work at a large company of about 2k, mail is not given to us directly. It is opened by a mail room clerk and then distributed (if they feel it is work related) to the appropriate dept managers. My work email automatically sends acknowledgements when you open an email. So I know my landlord received this acknowledgement. My question, is can my landlord send me this 5 day notice to my place of work? Is the signature from the mail clerk acceptable in court?
  • We moved in on may 24 on may 25 we tried contacting front office of refrigerator not working daughter in law went in to main office on a Monday they told her following Wednesday maintenance would be in 2 weeks later maintenance shows up says it needs freon another week passes still fridge not fixed all food now spoiled contract does say tenant responsible for kiss but doesn't say tenant responsible for loss if complex neglegent do I get reimbursed for food lost
