  • My landlord is trying to evict us for non-payment of rent. I called her and offered to pay her rent through a charity. She refused it and said that she does not accept rent from charities.  Can I use this as a defense?
  • My phone/internet provideris constantly charging me late fees. Im on a fixed income that I receive the 2nd Wed of every month and that is the day I write them a check. I try to explain this to them but they continue to charge me late fees. What is AZ law regarding these late fees? I'm 83 and a Korean war vet...I can't afford to continue to pay these fees
  • I move into apt Oct 7, The move in date was set by them month in advance, I been waiting for a apt. They gave me a costsheet with the correct move in date, it had the monthly rent would be, what I am responsible for, deposits, fees, and summary of movein total. It also stated what paid by tenant and proof need for move in such as electric acct number. We both signed it and it required two cashier checks and listed the amount. Nothing changed. once move in they audit and found out they calculated the prorated days wrong. Now they want more money. I budgeted using their form

Is there any reason why my son shouldn't be home with me? Would I be hurting my case if I showed up and brought my son home myself?

We have had several issues with this problem, and feel we can no longer allow this person to occupy our property and would like to have someone tell us how we can go about serving notice for an eviction. We have read the laws of Arizona and know that a paper has to be obtained, filed, and paid for by us and then sent on to the occupant of property.  How can we start this procedure?
  • Can my landlord impose a fee because I own a washing machine? This fee was not indicated on my original rental contract I signed 9 years ago. This fee was implemented AFTER they built a laundry room. Their excuse for charging this fee is that the water bill is higher, which wasn't an issue before they built the laundry room.
  • Is it illegal for a company to not issue paychecks in the father's name to avoid paying child support? It is a family-owned company and the fathers mother is getting the checks in her name and giving the cash to her son.
