QUESTIONS

  • My husband and I want to know the best way to ensure that if something were to happen to us both, that our daughter would not become a ward of the state. How can we ensure that she would go to my husband's parents for guardianship?
  • We live in an RV resort, own a park model. We have a business license to do yard work and have been doing well here in the park helping older people that cannot do what we do. We work on the weekends, but the park is considering prohibiting working on Sunday. Can they do this according to AZ law. They have also issued a ruling that people who work for the park cannot do side jobs in the park at all, even on their own time and with their own equipment. Is this legal?
  • I am the non-custodial parent and currently have a parenting Plan in effect. It will be due for modification at the end of August. My question is if I wish to modify the parenting plan and do not have agreement from the other parent, what must I do and by what time. Another question, will the current parenting plan stay in effect if I do not file for a modification of parenting time?
  • I have an order for the parenting plan and the parents disagree about what the term "2 days before school starts" means. So if school starts on Monday when does the Child need to return back to the other parent? Sat? or Friday? Where can I find proof of this?
  • I have had someone living with me for the past 3 years as somewhat of a caregiver. I have lupus and Fybromyalgia and there are days when I can not function. I never know when something will happen. I live in an apartment andhave for 6 years. All the other managers knew that someone was with me and why and it was okay. Now we have a new management company who said that he has to fill out a credit report and since he is not working, they said that he has to let them know who is buying the soap, toilet tissue, toothpaste, etc. Since he does not have a job, he does get food stamps. Now, my question is..is it legal for them to ask him who pays for what. I don't think they can ask him that because that has nothing to do with adding him to the lease.
  • My adult probation officer informed me that she was "required by law" to receive a notarized letter from my employer - I asked if there was a standard format letter I could review and she said no. I have no issue verifying employment through typical means but I feel a letter that is arbitrary is a bit unfair. I just want someone to show me the "required by law" part???
  • My lease expires on 5/31/16. I. I intended on renewing, however I received a Notice of Non Renewal requesting I vacate by 6/4/16. When I asked the landlord "why?", she stated that a reason is not necessary pursuant to law. Is this true? Can you provide me with the statute, please? I was not able to find it.
  • I had a friend staying with me to help pay the rent. They left (without paying debt) and left several of their things at my house. I want the things out. How long do I have to store their belongings until I can get rid of them. I have informed them several times and they will not collect their things.
  • How do I serve my wife with divorce papers.
  • I got a divorce about 7 years ago and it stated that my ex owes me some money but he has yet to pay in full. He had since moved to NC and gotten remarried. Can I go after them for the money? The decree doesn't state an expiration for the money to be paid but he refuses to make further payments to me. I also learned that he has recently bought a house. Can I put a lien out and file a document with the court to hold him in contempt for not paying me?
