My son passed away June 17, 2016, he was 32 years old. He had never married and had no children. His only asset is a checking account at our local credit union. He had no co owner on the account and did not set up a beneficary. We believe there is under $2000 in the account and would like to close it out and just donate the funds. Since he had no Will and we do not have the money to open probate, is there any other option for us?

My fiancé and I are in a month to month lease. On 8-26-16 a guest of ours that was visiting the state was accused of crime on property. The next day the landlord stated we had to leave that day or we could pay for next month's rent and be evicted afterwards. They stated a eviction would show on credit affectively making it nearly impossible to rent anywhere else. On the rental agreement there was no notice stating we needed to advise them if we had a guest staying longer than 14 days and he has not been formally charged. What options do I have.

I made a personal loan of 20k to a friend that was due October 30, 2012. It is in writing. He lives in Flagstaff,AZ, and I live in Hawthorne, CA. He says he wants to pay me back, but cant afford it. I want my money. He may have filed bankruptcy in Flagstaff and that is what I am trying to find out. I as a creditor was never notified if he did. Can I for free find out if he filed sometime from 2008-present??? I want to recover my money, and hoping bankruptcy law will not get in the way. Thanks!

My mother passed away, she had health problems including altered mine status and my brother sold my mothers cows and kept the money. The family had a meeting soon after the sale and asked him to put the money in an account to help with her medical and care expenses. Again after her death, he was asked to put the money into the account so it can be probated properly to all her heirs and he has not do so. Is this a case of elderly abuse by my bother and it is her money should it be probated to heirs.
