QUESTIONS

  • I and my family will be moving to AZ from Alaska late fall 2011 . I have current child support order against my ex-husband who owes over $18K in child support. He hasnt complied at all with the court order of support in AK. Can I move my child support case from AK to AZ? Will I still be able to get cash assistance, WIC and other public help in AZ with a open court order child support on my ex?
  • C Our neighbor upstairs has caused us problems about the parking and has threatened my 70 yr old husband and myself. Last Friday his gun "went off " into the floor of our bedroom, where my granddaughter and I were. He went to jail. No one was hurt. But I do not feel safe with all that and then yesterday a person was arrested in front of our apt with a large amt of money and drugs. He went to jail also. Our lease is up but we had intended to renew. Now I'm afraid to live here. We were supposed to give a 2 months notice if we moved out. Do we still have to give that much notice?
  • Do federal student loans and grants affect my elegibility to receive food stamps and achhcs for me and my son?
  • My daughter recently move to tucson to attend college. The apt complex was supposedly wifi ready, but the previous tenant in her unit apparently damaged the wiring to the point of a very costly repair, which the complex manager told her `they did the best they could', but it would cost too much to fix, and basically, tough luck. She now has to rely on using data (expensive!) and they are not offering to cover that cost. If the other units in the complex have access to this service, isnt she legally entitle to it as well?
  • I own my trailer but rent the space. The owner of the park passed away and we were left alone for a few months. Rent checks were returned and it was chaos. I received a certified letter saying I have not paid rent for 4 months, when I know I have. I have proof for 1 of those months, but cannot find the others. The office is open for 3 hours a day while I'm at work, so I stick it in the outside mailbox that is locked. Other tenants have received the same notice and said they also paid. Some tenants are also suing the park for abandonment. What can I do to prevent paying rent twice? Thank you
  • I need to move for work. It's before the end of the lease. If I turn over keys and pay in full, can I demand security deposit returned? Landord is saying that I would still be responsible for the property...is this true?
  • You state a 10 day notice is required. Is that 10 days before rent is due? Does it mean 10 days before your final 30 day period?
  • My ex wife & I have shared custody of our 2 boys 9 & 11. I have been off work for over a year due to seizures, psoriatic arthritis and back problems & depression. I'm presently waiting to see if I can get on disability. My ex brings the boys to me on weeks I have them. I can not drive due to seizures. She recently sent me a nasty text telling me if I only knew what's coming and she'll take boys from me. What are my rights? She was diagnosed with bi-polar disease and I worry about my boys. I want the best for them but can she take them away from me? . I love them so much. Thank you
  • I just got married to a mexican national two months ago. We both want to get his papers filed but it is so expensive. Where can we go to get help with this?
  • Our lease was up in May of 2018. We did not resign a lease. We are month to month. We were emailed a letter stating that we had to be out on oct 31 and they are not stating a reason. Is this ok?
