I submitted an application to Community Legal Services, yesterday, for Cody Mohr. What is the next step? I attempted to call the Central office today. I was on hold and had only one person ahead of me, then the hour passed and they hung up, as they stated they would. I can try again tomorrow. Should Cody and I go down to their office. Would he be able to find out when he might get to talk to someone about free legal help? Please advise. Cody's daughter is very bright should not have been held back in 1st grade. My ex-wife has sole custody of our 14 year old daughter, and i'm pursuing sole custody. She remarried a felon with bad criminal past, and has 2 new babies with him. The 5 of them live in a 2 bed apt. Our daughter is sick all the time with numerous health problems, has excessive absences from school, and failing grades.I'm deeply concerned for her mental, emotional, physical, and moral health. My ex isn't giving her proper visitation with me. I live out of state and feel powerless until a court ruling can be made. I want action immediately. Does this merit an emergency post decree modification?

My children's mother dropped the kids off with me December 31, three days after my agreed weekly visit not wanting to be responsible for taking care of them anymore. Ive got documentation and witnesses that she dropped them off with the intent to sign over her rights as a mother so she could do as she pleases. How do I protect myself legally so she cannot come and go taking them from a stable home after not being in contact once for the past five weeks? She dropped them off at my job with only the clothes on their backs. I am employed and have constant care for them, how do I protect myself?

I have 2 kids, ages 1 & 2. I have for the same company for 5 years. The father of my kids and I split up about 8 mos ago. Since the split we have shared custody. I drop the kids off before work (4 days a week w/his grandma watching them) and pick them up after work on 2 of the days, the other 2 they usually spend the night there. He has recently filed in court for joint custody and child support. He is unable to hold a steady job for more than a few months at a time. He also has a history of drug use and violence. Am I at risk of loosing custody due to work? Should I put my kids in daycare?

When my 3 year old daughter was born her father refused to sign the birth certificate, he requested a paternity test be done through the state, after paternity was established they then established child support , my question is because he has not filled out any forms asking to amend her birth certificate or acknowledge paternity does he still have rights? I'm getting married and would like to have my new husband adopt her (i know her bio father will no longer be responsible for child support) and everything was done through DES.

Our grandaughter has lived in our home since birth. Parents used to live with us, the moved out in March but did not take the baby. She is currently still living in our home, they have moved 3 different times since March. Mom is a minor she was arrested for domestic violence, but charges were dropped. Father was in jail for domestic violence too but charges were dropped. We provide for the baby and take care of her 95% of the time what is the chance of gaining custody?
