questions & answers
Question: my 6 year old son lives with his grandparents and we want to get his last name changed can the grandparents change it without my the other parents permission and my son says grandpa is more of a dad to him then his birth dad
Answer: Only the parent or guardian of a minor may file an application to change that minor’s name under ARS 12-601 . If one parent submits an application to change the child’s name, the other parent will typically be notified and has the right to either object or accept the proposed name change.
