Child Custody
questions & answers
Question: I have full custody of my son.. I let him go to his mothers for a visit and now she put an order of protection on me to keep him from me. I won custody through a dissolution of marriage and this is the third time in a year I've had to deal with this.. What can I do and what are my options.
Answer: This is a complicated problem that will likely require the help of a lawyer. If you cannot afford to hire a lawyer to represent you, it would still be worthwhile to talk to a lawyer and get some guidance. You may want to contact a lawyer referral service. For a fee of $40, the lawyer referral service will arrange a 30 minute appointment with an experienced attorney who can evaluate your situation and advise you on the best course of action. You can also download forms for a petition to enforce your custody order from the self-help section of your local Court's website, but talking to a lawyer first would be helpful.
