Child Custody
questions & answers
Question: At what age in Arizona can a child go before a judge to present their opinions and feelings in regards to which parent they want to live with?
Answer: Pursuant to ARS § 25-405, the court may interview a child in chambers to ascertain the child's wishes as to the child's custodian and as to parenting time. It is really up to the court to determine whether an interview is appropriate under the circumstances. (The court is not required to conduct an interview). There really is no "bright line age."
