Question: How can I get my vehicle back from peora police dept. It was impounded because it was listed on a warrant that was issued on my boyfriends house. They said it is there for evidence. It's my car. I bought it before I meet my boyfriend, but I'm always at his house. I have my own apartment. They found drugs in his house

Answer:

You may want to contact the Peoria Police Department to explain your situation and ask them for the proper procedure to retrieve your car. The police department may also be able to give you additional information about the vehicle and the case, such as a receipt for items seized in the vehicle.

You may want to consult with an attorney to help you with proving your ownership of the vehicle and retrieving the vehicle. If so, please view the Where to Find An Attorney for Specific Legal Advice article of the AZLawHelp.org website.
If the car was seized pursuant to a valid warrant, there is likely a process impoundment and release of the vehicle because it may be evidence in a case.
