Question: I received court approval set aside for misdemeanor DV conviction. Does the set aside restore gun ownership? Or separate request is required?

Answer: With the conviction set aside, Federal law allows for restoration of gun rights pursuant to 18 U.S.C. section 921(a)33(B)(11).  It is important to attend to all the details required so that you do not end up in violation of federal law.  Contact a gun rights organization for detailed information or talk with a lawyer who handles gun rights issues.
