Unemployment Compensation
questions & answers
Question: Can I get UI if I work as a substitute teacher while looking for fulltime permanent work?
Answer:
A person is deemed unemployed "with respect to any week of less than full time work without any fault on the individual's part if the wages payable to the individual with respect to the week are less than the individual's weekly benefit amount." A.R.S. 23-621. Therefore, a person who is employed part time may still be eligible for unemployment compensation.
To determine whether you are eligible for unemployment insurance benefits, consult the Arizona Department of Economic Security.
