Question: Our lease terms in the middle of the month and we will not be renewing. We paid a prorated amount when we moved in because we occupied the home half the month, our property manager is stating that our last months rent must be paid in full even though the lease terms in the middle of the month so we will not be living in the home. Our lease does not specify anything on last months rent

Answer: As a general rule, the terms and conditions of the rental agreement determine when and how much rent should be paid (A.R.S. 33-1314). Without knowing what precise language the a lease contains, it is impossible to say whether the tenant’s or the landlord’s interpretation is the correct one.
