Landlord and Tenant - Mobile Home Parks
questions & answers
Question: I had an agreement with management of MHP that I would not be held responsible for previous owners last utility bill. New owners come in and charge me for the bill because previous I'll ous park owner didn't collect. Can they do that
Answer: If an agreement is not in writing, then it may be very difficult to hold a new owner to the promise of a previous owner. However, if an agreement is in writing, then the new owner should honor it, as all existing arrangements between a park and its tenants survive a park ownership change.
