Divorce and Remarriage
questions & answers
Question: My wife wants a divorce. Mainly to get my name and responsibility off of her. Is there a quick way to do this?
Answer:
The Arizona laws on marital and domestic relations can be found under Title 25 of the Arizona Revised Statutes (A.R.S.). The complexity and length of a divorce can depend on many factors, such as whether the parties agree on the distribution of property, whether there is any property/assets/businesses shared by the parties, whether there are children involved, as well as many other factors. The laws on dissolution of a marriage (divorce) begin at A.R.S. § 25-301. You may want to review these laws, including A.R.S. § 25-312 which describes the findings necessary for dissolution.
