Child Support

questions & answers

Question: I had a drop in my pay, and now, after my Child Support Payments, my take home pay is less than 900 dollars a month. Isn't there a limit on how much money they can take for my child support if it puts me below a reasonable standard of living? I can't pay my basic living expenses, and I don't know what to do.

Answer: You may be able to file papers in the courts to re-calculate your child support.  Go to:  http://www.azcourts.gov/selfservicecenter/Self-Service-Forms#FamilyLaw and look up the child support/family law for your county.  The self help center can assist with the proper paperwork.  You may also wish to speak with an attorney to see how to go about reviewing child support payments.
