QUESTIONS

  • I was recently in a relationship with a guy who was verbally and emotionally abusive. We were living together for about 3 months and he was always yelling at me and I was getting very scared. After he held me inside our apartment and refused to let me leave I finally got out and moved out. I tried to keep things civil. He moved to out of state but he says he will come back. He calls the house I am staying at several times a day.  He breaks into my emails and talks to my friends. He threatens me and he gets very angry at times and calls me and says he will do stuff to me and he will do stuff to my friends . I was wondering what I could do. I am very stressed out and scared and I feel like it is getting worse and I need a solution. I looked up about an order of protection but Im not sure where to go and how to do it. Id like to stop him from contacting me, my family, and my friends. I feel that he may be emotionally unstable and have issues that could turn to violence. He says he is coming back to Arizona and I just want to protect myself, my family, and my friends.
  • I had to leave a rental property because of an order of protection. The problem is that I had already paid in full the hole lease in advance. The law states that he is supposed to refund my money in case of a domestic violence issue. I have not received any money from him or the return of my security deposit either and he is refusing to pay me. What do I do to get my money he owes me back?
  • My ex husband has now been incarcerated for the past 5 years. He has charges of domestic violence and aggravated domestic violence against me which happened in front of the kids. I currently have sole custody and he has not seen or spoken to the kids in at least 4 years. I would like to terminate his parental rights, is this a possibility?
  • I see a lot of doctrine that establishes the means of acquiring a Protection Order, but I see nothing in regards to the ramifications of filing a false one. So my question is; does filing a false Protection Order, also include immunity from prosecution? Is there any justice for anyone who has been the victim of a system remedy, which has been abused to the point where it has become weapon, rendering it ineffective? Its ironic that a system created to help victims, in turn makes victims. Was that the intended purpose, to deprive fathers of their children and create a plethora problems?
  • If an order of protection says that the defendant has to surrender his firearms to the Mesa PD, can he give them to a friend instead? Is this violating the order of protection?
  • My aunt just got guardian ship of me. My father that adopted me still has custody of my aunt and I are constantly fighting she threatens to send me back to him. Now that I am 16 can move out of my aunt's house and move back in with my biological father that is her brother?
  • My daughteris being physically abused by her husband  He has done this before. The police came once to escort her out of the trailer. He left before they came. She is afraid of him as he has threatened to have her children taken away. I am not sure as to what to do as parents. He apologizes, then she keep accepts him back. We are worried about the children. We live in Alaska
  • I live with my boyfriend it's his home I've lived here for 15 years he is very abusive verbally and physically at times when he is drunk he has put a chain WITH a lock on the gate so I cant leave or come he does this when i have to go to appointments he refuses to take me so there for i have to find my own way to get to and from appointments I was in a car accident in 2019 which makes it difficult for me to have to climb the fence TO get in and out is there something I can do that will not cause me being the one that has to leave the home because it's his home I've lived HERE 15 yrs
  • I plead guilty to Disorderly Conduct DV in Mesa and have to attend 12 hours of Anger Management classes. I was planning on moving to Bullhead City but now I don't know if I can. Does it matter where I take these classes?
  • In an order of protection, how many feet does it grant/rule for the abuser to stay away from me?
