Question: Can I be forced to establish paternity by my babys father?

Answer: You may want to review the paternity statutes to learn more about how paternity is established. According to A.R.S. § 25-814, in certain situations a man is presumed to be the father. A.R.S. § 25-803 discusses who can bring maternity/paternity proceedings. A.R.S. § 25-802 discusses where the action can be brought. Generally, you may want to look through the statutes in Title 25, Chapter 6, Article 1 of the Arizona Revised Statutes which explain the process for paternity actions.  Also, you may want to look to your local superior court which may have the specific forms for paternity actions as well as instructions on how to complete the forms.
