Food Stamps, Cash Assistance
questions & answers
Question: Can I still recieve food stamps if I am admitted to a nursing home?
Answer: Food stamps are now called Nutrition Assistance (NA) and information can be found at Arizona Department of Economic Security's Nutrition Assistance website. There are certain criteria that make one eligible, and it can vary from person to person. You can pre-screen your eligibility for this and other health and human services programs at Arizona Self Help before applying. There is no cost to apply, even if the pre-screen comes back negative. If you prefer to call, you can reach the Arizona Department of Economic Security at (800) 221-5689.
